Supplier The Playa Launches Dedicated VIP Management Tool

Behind every slot spin and live dealer hand sits a layer of software most players never see, and this week one of iGaming’s personalisation specialists gave that layer a significant upgrade. The Playa has rolled out a dedicated platform built purely around managing an operator’s most valuable customers, swapping the spreadsheets many VIP teams still rely on for something a good deal sharper.
What’s been released
The Playa, an AI-powered personalisation supplier, has introduced VIP Intelligence.
The Playa has launched VIP Intelligence, a standalone product the company says is an industry first, built specifically to manage VIP programmes end to end.
The tool arrived this month and, according to the supplier, fills a gap that has existed for years in how operators look after their highest-spending customers.
It was designed to address the gap between the disproportionate share of revenue that VIPs provide and the need for specific tools to manage VIP programmes.
The launch didn’t come out of nowhere.
The product follows research from a survey of 70 VIP professionals, 64 per cent of whom work directly for operators, none of whom used an AI or automation tool as their main system.
The product follows on from the supplier’s recent report ‘The State of VIP Operations’ which established that VIP operations across the sector were largely reliant on legacy systems like old manual spreadsheets.
The same survey found that 71 per cent of VIP professionals work with data spread across disconnected systems.
What’s changed
For the account managers who actually run VIP desks day to day, the headline change is consolidation.
VIP Intelligence combines early detection, behavioural profiling and prioritisation features in a single workflow for VIP managers.
Rather than piecing together player value signals from separate systems, teams get one view that covers the full relationship.
The product supports the full VIP lifecycle, from identifying potential high-value players to retaining existing VIPs.
One of the more striking claims is how early the tool can flag a promising player.
The High-Value Player Detection feature identifies VIP potential within a player’s first 24 hours.
That’s a notable shift from the traditional approach of waiting weeks or months of deposit history before a human manager spots a pattern. The platform is also pitched at catching the opposite problem: players who are drifting away before they lapse entirely, giving managers a prompt to step in rather than reacting after the fact.
The Playa’s chief executive, Viktoriia Grygorenko, framed the stakes in blunt terms, saying
“VIP management is the most valuable function in iGaming, and every VIP found late or lost without warning is revenue an operator never gets back.”
The company has pitched the recommendation layer as a support tool rather than a replacement for human judgement, nudging managers towards who needs attention rather than making decisions for them.
Where it fits
VIP Intelligence sits alongside The Playa’s existing suite of personalisation tools, which already cover lobby recommendations and player acquisition for operators. It’s a reminder that a lot of what shapes a player’s experience with a casino brand, from the offers they see to how quickly a host reaches out, now runs through AI-driven back-office systems rather than manual review. For UK-licensed operators weighing up how to compete on service rather than just game catalogue, tools like this point to where supplier innovation is increasingly heading: not just new slots and live tables, but the infrastructure that decides how those games get presented to the players who matter most to the bottom line.
