Playtech Streams Live Casino Straight From The Hippodrome

Playtech has swapped its purpose-built studios for a genuine casino floor, teaming up with London’s Hippodrome to stream live-dealer tables straight from the Leicester Square venue. It is the supplier’s first UK land-based partner of this kind, joining a growing roster of iconic venues it already streams from in Las Vegas, and it gives UK players a new way to see a familiar West End landmark on their screens.

What’s been released

Playtech and The Hippodrome Casino partnered to launch “Live from London,” a live casino portfolio broadcast from inside the Leicester Square venue, with the launch announced on 15 September 2026.

The Hippodrome, on Cranbourn Street near Leicester Square, has operated as a casino and entertainment venue for more than a century and is one of the best-known gaming addresses in the UK.

The collaboration marks the latest addition to the company’s growing ‘Live From’ portfolio, bringing one of the UK’s most renowned gaming venues to audiences around the world.

Playtech’s Live From portfolio also includes the MGM Grand and Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, operated by MGM Resorts International.
Hippodrome becomes the collection’s first UK entry, sitting alongside those American casino floors as a venue-based alternative to a traditional studio set.

How it plays

Broadcast live from inside The Hippodrome, the Live from London offering features Dual Roulette, Studio Core Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat.

The studio streams these four table formats from the Hippodrome floor.

As the partnership develops, the portfolio is expected to expand further with additional tables.

The appeal for players lies in the setting rather than any new mechanic:
players worldwide will be able to play ‘live’ versions of the games through their screens, bringing some of the illustrious heritage of the Hippodrome to online play.

Live-dealer studios built inside real casino venues, rather than purpose-built broadcast sets, have become a growing niche for suppliers looking to differentiate their live casino catalogues,
and the Hippodrome’s dealers and pit will be visible to players tuning in from home rather than an anonymous production studio.

Playtech says it is proud to introduce players worldwide to the rich heritage and unique atmosphere that makes The Hippodrome one of the most recognised casino and entertainment venues in the UK, describing the format as merging the authenticity of a premium land-based casino with its technology across multiple regulated markets.
For its part,
The Hippodrome noted it has been entertaining guests in the heart of London for more than a century, and that partnering with Playtech lets it extend that experience beyond the venue through high-quality live casino content.

Where it fits

This lands as Playtech continues building out its “Live From” concept beyond its core studio network.
Playtech’s studio network spans a flagship facility in Latvia, live studios in Romania and Spain, a presence in Peru and Brazil, and dedicated spaces in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, alongside its MGM Live cooperation in Las Vegas.

The company reported adding more than 120 new Live Casino brands internationally in 2024, and said it has launched and integrated over 90 new customer sites and instances over the last year.

The Hippodrome deal also builds on Playtech’s existing habit of pairing its live tables with recognisable brands and venues rather than generic sets:
its live range already includes tie-ins such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Deal or No Deal alongside original in-house content.
For UK operators running on Playtech’s platform, Live from London gives them a homegrown, London-flavoured alternative to sit next to the Las Vegas-sourced tables, and a reminder that some of the country’s oldest bricks-and-mortar casinos are increasingly finding a second life on the live-streaming floor.
