ThrillTech’s ThrillArena Turns Tournaments Player-Funded

Casino tournaments have traditionally been funded out of an operator’s marketing budget, but a new platform from side-bet specialist ThrillTech flips that model on its head. ThrillArena lets players top up their own prize pools through optional side wagers, spanning slots, live tables and sports betting under one leaderboard system.
What’s been released
ThrillTech, the Cyprus-based “Side Bets Company”, has launched
a new tournament platform in an attempt to “reimagine how operators can engage and reward players across casino, live and sports”, designed to boost prize pools and give new revenue opportunities without traditional operator-funded prizes
. The product brings together three existing strands of the company’s tournament tech:
SlotsArena, LiveArena and SportsArena into one proposition, entirely player-funded, meaning there is no operator contribution needed for prize pools
.
Entry is optional rather than automatic.
Players can choose to participate by opting in
, contributing through side bets that feed the prize pot rather than relying on the operator to seed rewards upfront. It’s the company’s second release since it entered the market:
ThrillArena marks Cyprus-based ThrillTech’s second product in its side-bet portfolio, following the launch of its side-bet jackpot engine, ThrillPots
.
How it plays
Underneath the branding sits a scoring system built to keep things competitive throughout a tournament’s run.
Tournament scoring is driven by a range of carefully calibrated factors, creating a dynamic points system that can evolve to deliver engaging and balanced competition
. The intention is to stop early leaders running away with it:
the system is designed to keep tournaments open and competitive, giving players who join later a genuine opportunity to catch up, climb the leaderboard and compete for top rewards
.
On top of the standard leaderboard structure, ThrillArena adds a head-to-head layer. Coverage of the launch describes
a “Battle Mode” for limited player-versus-player challenges that feed points into rankings
, sitting alongside the wider competition. Operators get flexibility over pacing too, with the option to run
daily and weekly payouts, with monthly “seasons” positioned as a longer-term engagement layer
.
Co-founder Benjamin Bradtke framed the launch as a shift in how tournaments are funded and run, saying the platform is
“turning them from an operator-funded promotional cost into a player-funded engagement and revenue opportunity”, by “combining side bets, automated tournaments and competitive player-v-player mechanics across Casino, Live and Sports”
.
Where it fits
ThrillTech has been busy expanding its footprint over the past few months.
The company made some major moves over the summer, partnering with operators including Super and 888AFRICA, and it later gained a licence from the Hellenic Gaming Commission in Greece to initially offer its ThrillPots products to operators
. ThrillArena is set to get its first public airing this week, with the company
demoing ThrillArena for the first time at SBC Summit in Lisbon at stand B331
.
The launch adds to a growing category of engagement-layer suppliers who don’t build slots or live tables themselves but sit on top of existing content to add extra hooks for players. As a modular add-on rather than a standalone game, ThrillArena’s real test will be how many operators, including those serving UK-licensed brands, choose to switch on its player-funded tournament format alongside the slot and live-casino releases already familiar to regular players.
