BetMGM Extends Newcastle Tie-Up as Tiger Platform Beds In

BetMGM’s black-and-white presence at St James’ Park is set to continue for a fourth season, with LeoVegas Group confirming a fresh multi-year agreement to keep the brand as Newcastle United’s official UK and European betting partner. For a site that watches what UK casino brands actually do with their platforms, the more interesting detail sits underneath the sponsorship headline: BetMGM’s UK casino and sportsbook are now running on LeoVegas Group’s own in-house technology.

What’s been released

Newcastle United has signed a multi-year deal with LeoVegas Group to make BetMGM its official UK and European betting partner.
The relationship isn’t new:
the relationship between the two organisations began in 2024, with the LeoVegas Group-operated brand continuing as Newcastle United’s Official UK and European Betting Partner
, following an initial tie-up that
Newcastle first inked with BetMGM in 2023 as the brand looked to build up its presence in the UK market
. This latest renewal takes the partnership into its fourth season on Tyneside.

On the matchday side,
BetMGM branding is set to feature prominently via LED advertising boards and media walls at St James’ Park
, alongside
fan-focused promotions, ticket giveaways and matchday hospitality
. The club’s Chief Revenue Officer, Dave O’Connor, described the tie-up as
“a real favourite amongst our supporters over the last three seasons, consistently delivering memorable, fan-first experiences”
.

What’s changed

The headline activation returning for the new campaign is
the BetMGM Half-Time Challenge, which gives fans the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas
, alongside other fan contests that have
tested fans against current and former first-team players and darts players
.

More significant for the product itself is what’s happening behind the scenes at LeoVegas Group.
The renewal follows LeoVegas Group’s launch of its proprietary Tiger sportsbook in the UK in August, with the platform being used across the BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK brands and including features such as odds boosts, partial cash out and Acca Flex.
That migration matters because it moves BetMGM’s UK operation off third-party sportsbook tech and onto infrastructure the group already runs in other markets, having
previously launched the sportsbook technology in Denmark, Brazil and Sweden
. On the casino side, BetMGM’s UK offer continues to draw on the wider LeoVegas Group stable, which across its BetMGM branding provides customers with
exciting new product features such as large-scale and frequent jackpots, loyalty rewards, unique and compelling sports promotions and exclusive slots
.

Where it fits

Newcastle’s continued association with a licensed operator stands in contrast to some of its earlier commercial history:
the club had Asia-facing, now-unlicensed gambling operator FUN88 as its front-of-shirt sponsor between 2017-2023
, and more recently
UK-licensed Entain wrote to the club to urge it to end its affiliation with 8XBet, an unlicensed operator which is Newcastle’s betting partner in Asia
. The BetMGM deal, by comparison, sits with a UKGC-regulated brand and arrives against a backdrop of tightening sponsorship rules, with the agreement renewed
following the front-of-shirt ban, which came into effect this year
.

BetMGM’s UK build-out has been steady since its 2023 debut, when MGM Resorts brought the brand to Britain via its LeoVegas subsidiary rather than through US joint-owner Entain. Newcastle isn’t LeoVegas Group’s only Premier League link either: the operator counts
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur
among its other top-flight partners, underlining how central English football sponsorship remains to the group’s UK growth strategy even as shirt branding disappears from the game. With Tiger now powering the sportsbook side of BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK alike, UK players across all three brands should notice a more consistent set of betting features arriving over the coming months, even if the casino lobby itself is the quieter half of the story for now.
