BETBY Blurs Slots and Sport With New SlotBets Format

Slot mechanics are turning up in some unexpected places this week. Tier 1 B2B supplier BETBY has rolled out SlotBets, a format that borrows reels, multipliers and win combinations from casino games and bolts them onto live sport, creating what the company is billing as an entirely new content category rather than another spin on either product.

What’s been released

B2B sportsbook supplier BETBY launched SlotBets on September 8, 2026, a product that converts live sporting action into slot-style gameplay built around 15-second betting rounds.

The launch marks the first product of its kind on the market and introduces SlotBets Games, a completely new igaming content category designed to bring sportsbook and casino closer together.

BETBY calls this new form of gameplay slotbetting.

Basketball was picked
as the format’s first real-world testing ground, with
SlotBasketball, the first major real-sports application of the product, each 15-second round is divided into three five-second windows, corresponding to three reels.

How it plays

BETBY SlotBets is built around 15-second betting rounds directly tied to the action unfolding in a live sports event, combining the immediacy of sports betting with familiar casino mechanics such as reels, winning combinations and multipliers.

The BETBY SlotBets product page states that the format offers multipliers ranging from 20x to 1,000x within the 15-second rounds.

What separates it from a standard sports-themed slot is where the randomness comes from.
The company said the product replaces the random-number-generator mechanics of casino games with real-world events, with the match itself acting as the engine of the game rather than serving as decoration around a casino mechanic.
Head of Innovation and R&D Kirill Nekrasov explained the thinking behind it, noting that
“why should a casino player need to become a sportsbook expert before they can enjoy betting on sport?”

On the technical side,
the product can be integrated through a lightweight iFrame and positioned within an operator’s sportsbook, casino, or both.

Its familiar slot-style interface also gives BETBY SlotBets potential for retail casino integration, allowing operators to introduce sports-based content through a format casino-first players can understand immediately.
BETBY has also flagged a further use case beyond the reels themselves:
the product page describes the format as the first match tracker that monetizes screen space, converting an area BETBY characterizes as passive viewing into an active betting engine.

Where it fits

For operators, the appeal is straightforward cross-selling.
BETBY SlotBets creates a new cross-vertical opportunity designed to increase engagement, betting frequency, retention and migration between sportsbook and casino audiences.
That’s a familiar ambition across the supplier landscape, but doing it by dressing live sport up as a slot, rather than the more common route of dressing a slot up as sport, is a genuinely different approach.

The scale behind the launch is notable too.
The product page states that more than 500 clients are already on board, and that BETBY develops games on client request and can create any league, team or participant from available competitions.
The format is getting a wider public airing shortly, with
BETBY SlotBets and the wider SlotBets Games category set to be officially showcased at SBC Summit Lisbon, where attendees will be able to experience the product at Stand C206.

Whether this hybrid format lands on UK-facing sportsbook-casino platforms remains to be seen, but the direction of travel is clear: as suppliers look for new ways to keep players moving between verticals, the line between “slot” and “sports bet” is getting harder to draw. Given BETBY’s existing operator footprint, it’s the kind of feature UK-facing brands running combined sportsbook and casino products could be weighing up before long.
