Yggdrasil’s Vikings Trade Longships for Limos in Hollywood

The berserkers are back, only this time they’ve swapped longships for limousines. Yggdrasil has sent its most famous quartet of Vikings down the red carpet in Vikings Go To Hollywood, the ninth outing for a franchise that has previously dragged its heroes through Egypt, Hell and even Las Vegas. You’ll notice the raiding and pillaging has been replaced with something altogether more glamorous: paparazzi, award ceremonies and a Walk of Fame star with their name on it.

What’s been released

Yggdrasil’s first “Vikings Go to” game debuted 11 years ago, and since then the titular characters have faced a variety of challenges and have even battled the forces of Hell itself.

Now the familiar cast is facing a challenge of a different kind as the four heroes have found themselves under the spotlight in Hollywood, presented in sleek costumes that mix Nordic motifs with modern aesthetics.

As the ninth title in the Vikings Go series, Vikings Go To Hollywood combines familiar characters with a new setting and mix of mechanics.

The release builds on the fresh look introduced in Vikings Go to Vegas in 2025, bringing a celebrity twist to the franchise while retaining Yggdrasil’s proprietary WildFight mechanic.
Junior game producer Michal Szafran described the aim as combining
“that familiar Vikings personality with a modern twist, a touch of pop culture and a mix of mechanics that creates a sense of momentum and progression.”
The game went live on 22 September, with UK-facing operators and slot sites already listing it as available to play.

How it plays

Vikings Go To Hollywood is a 5×4 reel slot with 25 paylines and a maximum win of x6,000 the player’s bet.

The lower-value symbols are the playing card suits: clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades, which return between x0.1 and x1.5 the player’s bet depending on the combination.

The higher-value symbols are the four Viking Stars, which return between x1.4 and x10 the player’s stake, alongside a wild symbol that substitutes for all regular symbols.

The headline feature stays true to the series’ roots.
During respins and free spins, Viking Star symbols are ambushed by paparazzi, and if they nail the pose before the shutter closes, they transform into sticky wilds for the duration of the respin in the base game, or for the entire free spins session.

Joining the action is RushingWilds, which is activated during the Free Spins round and turns previous Wilds into multipliers of up to 5x.

Progression carries between sessions too.
The Berzerk Rage collection feature brings a sense of progress, saving players’ points between sessions so they can pick up where they left off, and filling the Viking’s Rage meter unlocks Berzerk mode, awarding Free Spins and transforming the character into a Wild whenever they take part in a WildFight.
Volatility sits at medium-high, and while the default RTP is commonly listed at 96 per cent, reduced-return versions are typically also made available to operators, as is standard for Yggdrasil’s back catalogue.

Where it fits

Vikings Go remains one of Yggdrasil’s most durable franchises, and this latest instalment leans harder into pop culture than any predecessor.
The series began all the way back in 2015 with Vikings Go Wild and has since appeared in a plethora of releases with wildly different themes, from Egypt and Hell to Vegas, though the gameplay foundation has always centred on Viking symbols becoming sticky wilds in some form.
For UK players who’ve followed the series through its various eras, Hollywood offers a lighter, more comedic tone alongside mechanics that will feel immediately familiar, while giving Yggdrasil another vehicle to keep one of its flagship brands visible across UK-facing casino lobbies.
