MegawaysCasino Unveils Megaloons, Its First Exclusive Slot

MegawaysCasino has gone from hosting other studios’ Megaways titles to making its own. The brand has just released Megaloons, a balloon-themed slot built entirely for its own site, marking the first time the operator has put its name on a game rather than simply stocking someone else’s. UK players can spin it now, with a wider European rollout pencilled in for the months ahead.

What’s been released

MegawaysCasino has launched its first exclusive online slot, Megaloons, with the game initially made available to players in the UK ahead of a planned rollout across additional regulated European markets, using the Megaways mechanic, a variable reel system that can generate up to 117,649 winning combinations on a single spin. Featuring a balloon-themed design, Megaloons is the first proprietary game released specifically for the MegawaysCasino brand as the operator expands its exclusive casino content offering.

The game sits on the platform run by SkillOnNet, which relaunched MegawaysCasino in the UK earlier this year. SkillOnNet said MegawaysCasino.com would bring a “modern performance-optimised platform, exclusive content, a bold visual identity and a long-term investment in the UK market”. Megaloons is the first proof of that exclusive content promise landing on the site.

How it plays

Megaloons runs on the same Megaways skeleton that made the mechanic famous: a variable reel system that can generate up to 117,649 winning combinations on a single spin. That means the number of symbols on each reel shifts from spin to spin, so the win count changes constantly rather than sitting on a fixed set of paylines, giving the game a different rhythm each time the reels stop.

Beyond the mechanic itself, the studio behind the release has leaned into a lighter, more playful visual identity than the fruit machines and adventure themes that dominate much of the Megaways back catalogue, wrapping the format in a balloon motif that gives the brand something visually distinct to build a marketing push around.

The company says the game will be supported through onsite promotions, customer relationship management campaigns and wider marketing activity following its launch. In the words of the team behind it, “We wanted our first exclusive to feel immediately at home on the site… players can expect more releases created specifically for the brand.”

Where it fits

MegawaysCasino’s history is tied directly to the mechanic’s own story. The Megaways slot mechanic is a random reel modifier which creates up to 117,649 ways to win on every spin, and was first developed by Big Time Gaming in 2016. Gamesys Group then partnered with BTG in February 2021 to launch the first version of the Megaways Casino platform in the UK, before Bally’s Corporation, which completed its £2bn acquisition of Gamesys Group in 2021, announced the launch of Bally Casino as a replacement. SkillOnNet subsequently revived the brand under its own UK licence, and by May this year had taken it further afield. SkillOnNet launched MegawaysCasino across multiple international .com markets under its Malta Gaming Authority licence, following a relaunch of MegawaysCasino in the UK in March under the SkillOnNet umbrella, which the company described as a strong performer.

Megaloons therefore lands on a brand that has already proven itself commercially in the UK and is now trying to differentiate itself with content nobody else can offer, rather than relying purely on licensing well-known Megaways titles from third-party studios such as Big Time Gaming, Pragmatic Play or Blueprint. If the operator follows through on its promise of further brand-exclusive releases, UK players who favour the Megaways format may find MegawaysCasino becoming a slightly different proposition from the sister sites that simply stock the same shared library.
