ICONIC21’s AI Dealer Blurs Line Between RNG and Live Play
Solitary RNG tables and fully staffed live casino studios have long sat at opposite ends of the online casino experience. ICONIC21 reckons there’s room for something in between, and it has spent the past few months building out a format where an AI-powered dealer talks back, remembers your name, and keeps the conversation going even when the cards aren’t moving.
What’s been released
Transparency was a foundational principle behind ICONIC21’s launch in May of iDealer Blackjack, a classic RNG seven-seat blackjack game featuring an AI-powered dealer.
Developed in collaboration with RAVATAR using its real-time interactive AI avatar technology and described by ICONIC21 as a “real-time presence,” the dealer welcomes players by name, remembers past interactions and adapts naturally to every session.
The provider, which rebranded from BETER Live in 2024 and holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, didn’t stop at a single table. Within months it had expanded the format, and in August it launched a follow-up title set in a different environment.
ICONIC21 has launched iDealer Boulevard Blackjack, adding a Miami-themed table and expanded AI dealer customisation to its growing RNG casino portfolio, following the provider’s earlier iDealer Blackjack.
The company said the original iDealer Blackjack attracted strong player interest, and subsequently increased the number of available tables from two to six.
How it plays
At its core, this is standard RNG blackjack: a seven-seat table, computer-generated outcomes, and the usual betting structure players already know. What’s different sits on top of that engine.
The company says the dealer is not pre-recorded or controlled through scripted responses, but communicates with players in real time, reacts naturally during gameplay, and recognises returning users through previous interactions, greeting players by nickname and responding during quiet moments at the table.
Operators aren’t left out of the customisation picture either.
The dealer can be customised in areas including appearance, voice, personality and speech characteristics, allowing brands to shape the character around their individual identity and target market.
The AI dealer’s ability to remember interactions adds another element to the format, with the character able to respond during play and maintain continuity between interactions, giving the RNG title a more conversational structure.
ICONIC21 has also been candid about what the product is and isn’t trying to be. Rather than disguising the dealer as human, the company built honesty into the pitch from the start.
“Rather than trying to blur the line between human and artificial, we made it clear from the outset that players were interacting with an AI-powered dealer in an RNG game. Counterintuitively, that honesty became a strength,” product owner Andrii Savyntsev said.
The thinking, as he put it, is that
“not every player wants to sit in silence. Equally, not every player wants the commitment of a live casino table.”
Where it fits
UK players are used to a clear split between fast, solo RNG slots and tables, and the fully staffed live studios run by the likes of Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live. ICONIC21 is a smaller name by comparison, with its studios and distribution still scaling across regulated European, Latin American and Asian markets, but the idea it’s testing speaks to a gap plenty of players will recognise: wanting some table chatter without booking into a full live session.
The move also fits a broader pattern across ICONIC21’s catalogue, which already mixes its multiplier-driven Gravity Series of live tables with newer RNG formats like HiLo and Keno. Building a chatty AI layer onto the blackjack table is its clearest attempt yet to carve out territory that neither pure RNG nor traditional live casino fully covers, and it’s a trend worth watching as other studios start experimenting with the same space between the two formats.
