St8 widens Pragmatic Play tie-up into Canada’s newest markets

Two names familiar to anyone who has spent time in a UK casino lobby have teamed up on the other side of the Atlantic. Aggregation specialist St8 has broadened its partnership with Pragmatic Play so that operators licensed in Alberta can now plug into the supplier’s slots, live tables and crash games alongside those already live in Ontario. It is not a UK launch, but it is a useful snapshot of how the studios that stock British sites are spreading their content further afield.

What’s been released

St8 has expanded its partnership with Pragmatic Play, extending the distribution of the supplier’s portfolio across the regulated Canadian markets of Ontario and Alberta. The move arrives weeks after Alberta officially became the second province in Canada with regulated iGaming based on a licensed model, with St8 enabling partner operators to access Pragmatic Play’s gaming content.

Under the agreement, operators using St8’s aggregation platform will gain access to Pragmatic Play’s portfolio through a single API integration. St8’s David Fall said the tie-up is about “making one of the industry’s strongest content portfolios available to even more operators through our aggregation platform”, while Pragmatic Play’s Sharon McHugh described St8 as “a trusted distribution partner, combining a modern technology platform with the regulatory expertise and operational support needed to help bring our content to operators quickly and efficiently.”

How it plays

For operators, the appeal of the deal lies in its simplicity. Operators connected to St8’s next-generation aggregation platform will benefit from seamless access to Pragmatic Play’s extensive collection of casino content via a single API integration, reinforcing St8’s commitment to providing next-generation game aggregation services to licensed operators in the region. St8 allows partner operators to access Pragmatic Play’s portfolio of online casino games, and games are accessible through St8’s advanced and market-tested API, allowing partners to instantly access the supplier’s portfolio of freshly released titles, for example Death Dominion.

The catalogue on offer is a substantial one. The offering includes slot games, live casino titles, crash games, arcade releases and other RNG content, with Pragmatic Play’s catalogue featuring over 600 proprietary slot games, including popular titles such as Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus, alongside its live casino products and additional gaming content. On the aggregation side, St8’s platform currently provides operators with access to content from more than 200 game providers through one integration, so Pragmatic Play’s library sits alongside a wide spread of studios rather than being bolted on as a standalone feed.

Where it fits

Nothing here changes what’s available to UK players today; Alberta and Ontario are the specific markets covered by this extension. But the names involved will ring a bell for British audiences. St8 itself already operates well beyond North America – its platform connects operators to over 200 providers via a single API, with licences held in the UK, Malta, Romania, Isle of Man and Anjouan in addition to Ontario – and Pragmatic Play is one of the most widely stocked slot and live-casino suppliers across UK-licensed sites.

The Canadian expansion also fits a broader pattern for St8, which has been steadily adding supplier deals in the region since securing its Alberta registration. The Wazdan deal earlier in the year was part of a pattern of supplier agreements since its Ontario licence was granted, with the aggregator having completed similar rollouts in the province with Gaming Corps and Games Global. That kind of steady, multi-supplier expansion is exactly the sort of groundwork that tends to precede content reaching new territories further down the line, even if there’s no suggestion of an imminent UK move tied to this particular deal.
